You had double time, listen to this podcast on Wednesday, get a little email Friday. It's like double Lylas. All right.
So we are on episode number six. This episode is called You 2.0. And this is one of my favorite subjects. This is one of my favorite exercises to do. We have a whole week in the transformation program where we do You 2.0. I think it's a transformative exercise. So I'm going to take you guys kind of through this, why we do it, what the purpose of it is and how you can do it for yourself at home. And for those of you who are in my Lady Sculpt membership, we're going to of course have an extension of this podcast where we deep dive into you. 2.0. All right.
So why do we do this? What is, what is it? What is You 2.0? I just said that like six times. What is You 2.0?. So I've always been a little bit of a dreamer. I like to dream about the potential for my life, the possibilities for my life. I like to dream about the house that I want one day, the trips that I'm going to take one day, the car I'm going to drive one day, the business that I'm going to have one day, the women that I will inspire all of the things. Something I've realized along the way, is that if you take those dreams out of your brain and you put them on paper, they become goals. Like, it's that simple. That's how you turn a dream into a goal. You literally write it down on paper. And I get told this a lot. There's people in my family and people who are in my life and they're like Lylas, you're doing the things you said, you were going to do this a year ago and now it's happening. And you said you were going to do this five years ago and now it's coming to fruition. And it's because I take the dreams out of my head and I put them on paper. Right. I tell people about them. I talked about them. I make them feel real. It's not about applying pressure to me. It's about, if you talk about something enough, you start to believe in the possibility of it. Right. When you put it at the front of your brain, your brain goes to work on how to make it possible for you. So when you have a dream, don't just shove it to the back of your brain and be like, that might happen one day. Right or I'm dreaming. Don't do that. Write it down and stick it on your mirror. Where you see it every day. Where you remind yourself of your dream, your why, your reason, your drive and dedication to that every day so that your brain can go to work on finding ways to make it possible for you.
So you guys, what a You 2.0 is? It's literally designing who you want to be, one year from now. Now we take this exercise and we amp it up. I like to do it every January where we do it, like, You 2.0, which is you next year. And then we do a You 5.0, which is you five years from now. And then a You 10.0, which is, you ten years from now. But we often underestimate what we can do in the long term and we overestimate what we can do in the short term. So we tend to set these giant goals for ourselves for this month, but we underestimate, or we can do in one year. And when we start to realize what we're actually capable of doing in one year. Then it blows our mind what might be possible for us 10 years from now. Right? When we start allowing ourselves to see the potential that is within us, things start to get really fun. Not just saying this, you guys believe me. I have living proof of this. I've watched my clients be living proof of this. I work with a ton of other coaches that are living proof of this and their clients are also living proof of this.
So I want you guys to kind of just stick with me for a bit, and then I'm going to give you instructions on how to design your You 2.0. This is a really powerful tool, to not just getting to know who you are and what you want for yourself but also you are literally creating a step by step pathway of how to get you there. I will break it down. Creating a vision and putting it on paper literally makes it possible. And it's so much fun because I started doing this exercise like four or five years ago. And I've found you 2.0 that I designed four or five years ago that literally, like I've bypassed that version that I wanted to grow into. And I am now, beyond that. Like it's crazy how insightful we can be about the future we want to create when we open up that portal and literally all you have to do to open up that portal, take it out of your head and write it down and make a plan, you got it. That's it. That's it. All right. Are you with me? So I do this exercise often. I do Lylas 2.0, at least once a year, sometimes twice. I do it whenever I feel like the vision of me that I want for my future might have changed a little bit. If there's a pivot, if there's a different direction, if there's something new I want to implement, if a circumstance has changed, I'll sit down and I'll redesign. I think there's nothing wrong with doing that. I'm amazed at the evolution of me and what I've created since I've started doing this exercise. I am literally living the vision for myself that I created last year. When I read Layla's 2.0 that I designed at the beginning of this year in January of 2021. I'm not all the way there yet. There is no question in my mind that I will get there. And the more you do this work, the more you write down your dreams, turn them into goals and chase them hard. The more you believe that you can achieve whatever you set your mind out to achieve.
Okay. So what do we need to do to create this 2.0 version of ourselves? Are you ready? I'm going to have you grab a pen and paper, if you're in LSM 2.0, there will be a pretty little worksheet done up for you that you can utilize. And, it'll be interactive so you can just type right into the PDF, which is amazing. I love technology. Okay. But if you're just with us here on the podcast, this is what I want you to do. I want you to take a few sheets of paper. You're going to need a few or a couple pages in your journal. And I want you to write down the question and then I want you to wait until after you're done listening to this podcast, and I want you to spend some time. So the more detail that you can put into your You 2.0, the better. All right. I want you to get very specific. The first time I did this exercise, I didn't get very specific. I didn't even know how, because I had no idea what I wanted because I had spent so much of my life, people pleasing that I didn't when someone asked me what I wanted in my future, I'd kind of look around me and be like, well, what does everybody else want? Let's move in those directions. Right? The more I did this exercise, the more specific I got, the better I got to know myself, the deeper, I was able to pull out my wants and my desires and my visions and my dreams. It's amazing how the people in my life supported that and made room for that. And now we work together to help each other achieve our dreams. My husband is going after his dreams super hard right now. And it's so much fun to watch. And I don't even know if he knows that I'm over here going after my dreams as well. I think he does. He doesn't listen to the podcast. I don't even know if he knows the podcast, I'm sure he does. I talk about it all of the time. But it's so much fun when you show up. And start living into your future version of yourself and start making your dreams come true. You inspire the people around you and close to you, your kids, your spouse, your family members, your coworkers. For me, it's my clients to do the same thing. You show up in a way that proves that it is possible. You're an example of what is possible. Which makes other people go. Hmm. She can do it. Maybe I get too. This is something I want to touch on for a sec. Before I get into the questions. I used to get scarcity when I would see someone else going after and chasing their dreams hard and achieving big things and making a lot of money and winning big competitions. And now, I love watching other people achieve amazing things because my mindset has changed around it. And I think if they can do it, so can I. We're going to do a whole podcast on that mind switch you guys, scarcity versus abundance, so important.
But let's dive into the questions I want you to answer, are you ready? You got your paper. Here we go. So I'm going to word these as once I find that when I put something down on paper and say, I want this, my brain goes to work on how to do it. I've also seen this done where people write down, I will, and it makes it feel like it's inevitable for them. For me, the I will add a little bit of pressure. And I don't know about you, but when I have too much pressure, I get overwhelmed and I go take a nap. So I'm going to word these from my perspective, how I like to answer them but if you would prefer to word them with, I will feel free to. What do you want your body to look like one year from now? And what is it capable of? So I want you to get really detailed here. One year from now, what do you weigh? What clothes size do you fit in? How sculpted is your physique? What does your body look like? You may even want to jump online and find a physique that really appeals to you that you want to chase for the next year. I also want you to talk about what your body's capable of. Are there old injuries that you no longer are feeling? Are you able to do a plop? Are you running 5k a couple times a week? What, what is it you want for your body to look like and be able to do one year from now. Go crazy. Write a whole page on this. Get super detailed for me. So you can word it as, what do you want your body to look like or what my body will look like? All right. Okay.
Question two. How do you take care of your body? So one year from now, you're in this, you 2.0 vision of your body. What does that look like on a self care front? What do you need to do to maintain that body and properly care for that body? How many times a week are you gyming? How many times a week are you doing cardio? Do you go for massages every month? Are you treating yourself to pedicures? Do you take abs and salt baths every other day? What does that look like for you? So workouts, rest, self care, all of it.
Question three. What does your nutrition look like? Or what do you want your nutrition to look like? Or what will your nutrition look like? Any of those questions, whatever resonates with you most. Think about that vision of you that you want one year from now? What does she eat? What does she order when she goes out for restaurants? What does a date night look like for her? What does a girl's night out look like for her? What is she eating on a regular day to day basis? Does she think about food all of the time when she goes to the grocery store, does she have a hard time avoiding the snack aisle? Where does she shop when she goes grocery shopping? Does she stick to the outside parts of the store? Get really detailed on this for me.
Question four. How does she think and feel about nutrition and working out? This is a super good one. You guys. Think about how you feel right now about working out and about nutrition. And think about you a year from now that has earned that body. Where do you want to be in your mindset with it? I remember writing on one of my You 2.0 back in the day that I want to be somebody who wants to get up at 5:00 AM and work out. And now I get up at 5:00 AM and I want to work out. It's a thing. I made it happen. I didn't used to happen. I used to press news a lot and then I would do something different. I'd go back to bed. Or I get up and be like, I do not want to do this. Now I love it. I love my morning workouts. All right. So how do you wanna think about workouts and how do you want to think about food? And it might just be a neutral place. If you're in a place right now where you're a bit obsessive about nutrition or you think about food all of the time. If you're an overeater or an emotional eater or someone who uses food to make you feel better, that might feel like you think about food all of the time. So maybe you just get to a neutral place where you think about food the average amount. Right. When you get hungry, you think about food. You get to decide, you get to design the sculpted life you want. The version of You 2.0 that you want. All right.
Question five. What do you believe about your body? What? Say what. So, this is a really important question. Our beliefs, our deep inset thoughts we have, all of our thoughts and all of our beliefs are questionable. So I want you to kind of think about this in terms of like, what do you think about your body right now? And do you like what you think about your body? What do you believe about your body? And do you like that? If you're one of my ladies out there, over the age of 45 or 50. Do you have a belief system around the aging of your body? My body feels like this because I'm getting older. Oh, it's too late for me. I could never do that. That's BS you guys. That is not true. You are lying to yourself. And that is a belief system that is not serving you. What would you like to believe about your body? I want to believe that my body, my human body, is insanely capable. It can overcome and it is strong enough to get through anything I throw at it. I want to believe that I am capable of healing from all injuries. And then I am capable of learning to do new things as often as I want to. And I want to believe that about my body and time 90. All right. That's my new belief system right there. So what do you want to believe about your body? All right, now we're going to get into more lifestyle questions. So that's the first five that's literally kind of designing out your future version of yourself. Physically, from a health standpoint, a fitness standpoint and a visual aesthetics standpoint. But to do that, we need a lifestyle and a life that supports that yet.
So here's five questions about your life that I want you to answer. Where will you be, one year from now? Where do you want to be, one year from now? This is more of a location standpoint. So do you live in the same town? Do you live in the same city? Are you moving? Are you traveling? Maybe you upgraded your house. Maybe you moved out. Maybe you went from a condo to a house. Just get detailed about what you want. Where are you going? And this might be a goal that is a little bit longer than You 2.0, this might be more of a You five. 5.0, or You 10.0. But I want you to move in that direction. I want you to set the trajectory. So maybe You live in the same condo, but you have started saving for an upgrade. Okay.
Question seven. What do you want to be doing work-wise? Do you love your job? Is your job serving you? Do you want a promotion? Do you want a career change? Do you want to go back to school? What do you want? What do you want to be doing with your time to earn money? I'm going to remind you that you're answering these questions with You 2.0 in mind. So. You've created this brand new body with all these new habits. You want these answers to support the answers that you've had in those first five questions. So if you have a job right now, That is literally taking up all of your time or you're commuting six hours to, and from work, maybe the You 2.0 body that you desire, needs you to upgrade your lifestyle, needs you to make a change in that department to support that vision of yourself that you want. Yeah..
Question eight. What are your hobbies and your past times? How do you spend your time? Hobbies and pastimes are a big one. My You 2.0 does not want to spend all evening watching TV or in the bar having beers, watching football. My you 2.0 pass times, I would like to be in the gym already. That's definitely a pastime I already have, but I would like to learn golf. And I know that I need to put a lot of time in to do that. I want to spend that time doing things that support my version of me, my fitness goals. I would like to spend time with people who inspire me and drive me to be a better business woman, a better coach, a better version of myself. Right. I want to find those people. I want to network with those people. I want to integrate myself into those groups. That's actually part of the next question, you guys.
Question nine is who do you choose to spend your time with friends, mentors, relationships, and family. So who you choose to spend your time with this is a big one because so many of us take the fitness journey alone. We decide we're going to lose weight. We decide we want to compete and we don't necessarily have a solid group of supportive people around us. We are often kind of putting ourselves in a position where we're the leader or the stand alone, or we're doing something that's a different direction and that is a hundred percent fine. But maybe over the course of the next year, as you build your goals, you find other people who are doing and living the way you want to, so that you have a little bit of a support system, a little bit of a team, people to go to people to look up to that are supporting what you're doing. If you are spending time now with people who are overeating or playing a lot of video games or drinking a lot of alcohol and you have this future vision of yourself that's not doing any of those things. You may need some new friends. Right? Now, I'm not saying that you need to find a whole new group of friends and, you know, change up your spouse. My husband loves video games and we make it work. It's fine. He doesn't need to like exactly what I like. We just need to find some common ground. He inspires me in so many ways and I do the same for him, even though all of our hobbies aren't the same. And that's totally fine.
Okay. So question 10, the last question. What do you believe about your life? So this one is very similar to what you believe about your body. And let me rephrase this a little bit. What do you want to believe about your life? So again, I want you to think about what you believe about your life right now. I want you to question it. Is it serving you? If you believe your life is mediocre, if you believe your life is stressful, if you believe your life is the way it is, and there's nothing you can do about it. Babe, none of those thoughts are going to serve you. What do you want to believe about your life? Tell me. I want to believe that my life is purposeful. That I've been sent here and born in human form to achieve amazing things and touch as many people as possible. I want to believe that every day has an opportunity. I want to believe that this life can be whatever I want it to be. How much fun is that, right. Okay. You guys, so those are the 10 questions that I want you to answer.
Literally you guys, when you answer these 10 questions. You are creating all of your goals for the next year. Everything that you have written down is important. I want you to just make small goals and decisions and movements over the course of each month that put you on the path to becoming that future version of yourself. I love this exercise, And I am so, so excited to share it with all of you. I hope that you actually sit down. And do this work because it will change your life.
All right my friends. That is what I have for you today, episode six. If you're in lady scald membership, get over there. Check out the extended question version. It will blow your mind. All right, have a fantastic day. I'll see you next week.
