ļ»æHey, hey ladies. All right. I am dropping a bonus track this week, we're going to do a mindset recap. So today episode 11 drops, which is the first episode in the next series, which is going to be focused on nutrition. However, the first 10 episodes, I can't believe we're already done, 10 episodes. What? Have been mostly on mindset. And honestly mindset is like 80% of it, you guys. So I think that we should do a recap. I'm definitely going to be doing a lot more episodes on mindset, mindset, hacks, how to improve your mindset, how to manage your mindset, all of the things. But the first 10 episodes, I really wanted to work on what I see slows down most women.
So let's just quickly recap, episode one, Lylas Leona. That was all about me. So if you're just coming, if you're just joining us here on Lady Sculpt Lifestyle, and you want to know a little bit more about me, my background, my history, my training experience, my education, all of it. You can go listen to episode number one. I will give you all the details there.
Alright, episode number two was a sculpted life. This episode, I talked a little bit about what my goal is with this podcast and with Lady Sculpt, my membership platform. My goal is to teach women to sculpt their lives purposefully. So instead of being reactive, all of the time, reacting to being overweight, reacting to circumstances, reacting to other people's whatever, right. A sculpted life is about choosing how you want to show up in your life. What you want to look like, what you want your body to be capable of, how you want to feed your body, how you want to act, when things get rough or when things don't go your way, it's about taking time to get to know yourself better and to create yourself on purpose and the way you show up in this world on purpose. So bit by bit, episode by episode, piece by piece, I too am on this journey to build my own sculpted life and so I'm just a step ahead of you. I may not even be a step ahead of you, but what I'm teaching you guys here are lessons] I've learned lessons, my coach has taught me and just little life hacks that make living purposefully and sculpting your own body and your life a little bit easier.
All right. Episode number three, the training trifecta. We talked about mindset, macro nutrition and muscle development. These are the three key elements to my business, you guys. These are the three key elements to lady sculpt. These are the three key elements to my coaching practice. So I'm a big fan of teaching these things in unison. So just to rehash quickly, macro nutrition is in my opinion, the key to getting the body goals you want. If your nutrition isn't on par, you're not going to get the body goals you want. You're not going to get the energy you want. You're not going to get the clarity in your mindset that you want. Macro nutrition is the key to all of these things. It's the key to getting the body you desire. It's the key to healthy mental health. It's the key to good energy, all of it. Muscle development is the key to sculpting the shape of the body that you want. It also is a huge factor in creating confidence and empowering, especially women to feel strong and capable. Mindset. is the secret ingredient, you all that keeps you going without the right mindset, your results are not going to be sustainable. Mindset helps us push through when we don't feel like it. It helps us to be more rational when we want to be irrational. Mindset allows us to step back from the emotional response that we have naturally. And choose to do something in our own best interest in step. You know, on those days you don't want to go to the gym, you want to just stay home, watch TV, having a good mindset is what will push you through and get you to the gym anyways. So you need all three, if that's not clear or already. All right.
Episode number four was to outsmart your brain. This is such an important episode. You guys, I've had a couple of my clients already tell me they've listened to these episodes more than once. And I think that's so smart. So remember if you guys are hearing some of this stuff for the first time, these concepts for the first time, these tools for the first time, your brain might light bulb and be like, oh, well, that makes sense as to why I do it this way or why I don't do it this way. But intellectually knowing something is very different from putting it into physical practice and sometimes you need to hear something like six times, intellectually, 10 times, 60 times in order to start putting it into physical practice. Once you start putting it into physical practice, you may need to do it a hundred more times before it becomes habitual or before it starts to feel easy or routine or, you know, your brain isn't pushing back all of the time. So if you need to go back and listen to these episodes, please do so. So episode number four, outsmart your own brain. That's where we talk about your primitive brain, your limbic system versus your prefrontal cortex. So just a reminder, your limbic system is your animalistic brain, it is our old school brain that has kept us alive for centuries. It is the brain that we needed when we were cavemen. Its only goal is to keep us alive. It tells us to seek pleasure to avoid pain and to use minimal effort to conserve energy. However in today's modern world, there is pleasure everywhere. It's very easy to avoid pain. And it's very easy to conserve energy. So in order for us to live to our highest potential, we actually need to fight back against this primitive brain. And start using our prefrontal cortex, our smart human brain to set goals and to do things more purposefully and start pushing back against that natural human instinct. And pushing into pain in terms of experiencing emotional pain and being able to process it properly without food and avoiding pleasure sources like food and Netflix and napping when we're supposed to be working out and leaning in to exerting energy in a world where everything can be delivered to us, where we don't need to leave our houses to work. It's really important that we use our human bodies, that we train our muscles, that we exert energy on a daily basis because our health depends on it. It's a good episode to listen to you guys, primitive versus prefrontal. How to take action from that prefrontal brain. Okay.
Episode number five is slow the fuck down. Yes, I dropped the F bomb. All right. This episode talks about why rushing almost never works long-term. How when we rush for a goal usually even if we achieve the goal, we can't sustain it or often we end up giving up before we achieve the goal. So in episode number five, we talk about slowing it down, giving ourselves and our brains some time to achieve our goals. Notice that when you are rushing for anything, it's because of how you think you'll feel when you get there. So let's say you're rushing to an appointment because you think you're going to be late. You're rushing because of how you will feel, if you show up late, maybe you're thinking you'll be embarrassed or they will judge me or whatever. So all you have to do is replace that feeling and decide I'm just going to show up late. It's going to be fine. No one's going to judge me and if they do it doesn't matter anyway, right. I'd rather be late than get in an accident or whatever. If we're rushing to lose weight, it's because of how we think we'll feel once that weight is gone. And a lot of times, how we want to feel doesn't change once we've arrived there, how we feel changes because of what we're thinking and we can think those thoughts, we can think, you know that we're strong and fit and capable now. We don't have to wait until we've lost weight to feel that way. We can feel accomplished right now just for getting started. All right.
Episode number six, you guys. This is like one of my favorite episodes. You 2.0. This is where I help you design your future self. This is completely prefrontal thinking. This is about looking into your future one year from now. And deciding on purpose now, who you want to become, who do you want to be one year from now? And then working your way backwards from that place to figure out how to make little baby steps, little baby goals to get you to that future version of yourself. This is powerful work, you guys, if you haven't done your You 2.0, I highly recommend that you take some time this weekend and do your You 2.0.
All right. Episode number seven, how to set goals. Goals are the key to all the progress, you guys. If you're not setting goals, what are you doing? I love setting goals. I set goals on a daily basis. I set goals on a weekly, I set goals on a monthly and I set goals on a yearly. I like the goals. I believe that goals are the key to progress, to pushing forward, to becoming that next version of ourselves to up leveling our lives. And in this episode, I talk about if you are afraid to set goals, if you are afraid to fail, if you have stopped setting goals, because you don't even believe that you can achieve them anymore. I talk about how to fix this, how to get back into the game of goals.
Episode number eight, failing forward. Love this terminology. You can only fail if you give up trying. So failing forward is all about setting a goal and then going after it hard and if you don't achieve it perfectly, that's a fail forward, right. You're better than you were when you started. And you're going to keep going until you achieve it. Failing forward is how I achieve all of my calls, very rarely. Do I hit my goal on the head the first time, because I like to set big ass goals. And I encourage you to join me. Let's set some big goals.
Episode number nine was a motivation. I got so much amazing feedback from this episode, you guys. Reminder, that motivation is a feeling generated by your thoughts. So if you are feeling unmotivated, like you've lost your motivation, like you're waiting for your motivation, you need to check in with your brain. You need to look at what you're thinking. This is a fantastic episode to listen to, if you are feeling unmotivated to go to the gym today. I put this episode on, put your walking shoes on, walk to the gym, and by the time you get there, I guarantee you'll feel more motivated. Okay.
And the last episode to be released last week was episode number 10. Overcoming obstacles. An obstacle is only an obstacle because you think it is an obstacle. What? I know you guys. Okay. So the first 10 episodes were all very highly mindset focused. A reminder, that mindset is everything except your macro math and the actual foods you're eating and your workout program and the actual lifting of it. Everything else, everything is mindset, not wanting to eat the food that's on your protocol, mindset. Having a craving for a candy bar is not nutrition, you guys it's mindset. Not wanting to do your workout or feeling exhausted, mindset, all of it. Your husband is not supporting your fitness goals, mindset. Not having a motivation, mindset. Feeling like your program isn't right for you, mindset. All of it. Like literally most of it is mindset, you guys, achieving your goals, most of it, mindset. Okay.
So that's the basics of mindset. There is so much more to come on mindset, you guys, I'm just getting warmed up. But for the next 10 episodes, we're going to dive into the basics of nutrition. We're going to dive a little bit into nutrition math. We're going to dive a little bit into nutrition setup and just my theories and how I teach nutrition. Are you ready? Let's go, I'll see you there. Episode number 11, coming up.
