Okay. You guys let's dive in. We're going to be talking today about empowered life. Now I want to even go as far as saying empowered lifestyle here, we've talked about all things, mindset, macro nutrition and muscle development. But I want to go a little bit deeper. And when I was taking notes on this empowered life or empowered lifestyle, I realized that there was a little bit of a pattern happening. So I'm going to talk about four E’s. You guys know me, I like E’s. We have my four E’s that my business stands on my core business values, which are encourage, educate, empower, elevate.
But I found that there's four E’s in creating an empowered lifestyle. And those four E's are your employment or entrepreneurship, if you're an entrepreneur. Your environment. Your entourage. And your enjoyment. All right. We're going to talk about each briefly and what an empowered version of each looks like.
So let's start with employment or entrepreneurship. So the question I want you to ask here is what do I want to do with my life? I want you to answer that question. What do I want to do with my life? And then I want you to ask yourself, are you currently doing that? If you're not, it's possible that you are feeling disempowered with your employment or your entrepreneurship, because you're not moving towards what you truly want to do with your life. And so you may be having disempowered thoughts. Like I am stuck, or I have no options or I hate my job. Right. Those kinds of thoughts. And I want to remind you that you always, always have a choice and owning that choice is the first step in empowerment. So if you're working at a job that isn't what you want to do with your life. I want to ask you why. And if you are working at that job, because it is providing you with a good salary and good benefits and it helps you take care of your family. And you're choosing to stay there because of that. I want to encourage you to own that choice. Stop telling yourself you do not have a choice because you do, you're choosing to stay at that job because of what it is providing you and your family. But once you own that, it is a choice. Once you own that you could choose to leave and go after your dream and go after your purpose. But you'd be risking your financial stability. Right. And a lot of people do choose to do that. I'm choosing to do that. It does not mean you have to, but what I want to really encourage you to do is own the choice. You can choose to stay at a job that isn't your passion and isn't your purpose. But as long as you're having thoughts about that, makes you feel stuck or like you don't have a choice, you're going to feel disempowered. But when you say, okay, I get my purpose, my passion may be art. But I'm choosing to stay at my accounting job because it provides my family with stability or with the financial stability that art does not provide.
All of a sudden you're empowering yourself, that you're staying there by choice, but you can use the empowered energy of that choice to maybe start doing more art in your free time. As a side hustle, maybe it's something you work towards. When you can move into a place of empowerment in a career path that isn't your purpose. All of a sudden, you're going to have way more energy in your free time than if you are arguing with your brain about how stuck and how unhappy you are in your free time. Does that make sense? All right. You guys.
Let's move on from employment to environment. So the question I want you to ask here is where do I want to live my life? Again, I want you to answer. Where do I want to live my life? Now again, if the answer is different from where you're currently living, you may feel slightly disempowered. You may be having thoughts. Like I can't move, I can't afford to move. I can't afford to live where I want to live. It's just not in the cards for me. Those are very disempowering thoughts. You can choose to move anytime you want to, if you're not own that you are choosing not to move and why. All right. The ownership of the choice is what's going to empower you. But I also really want to encourage you with all these questions. I'm asking you guys today. Write them down, put them up on the wall and start making little purposeful choices, little tiny ones each day, and every week to move towards those bigger dreams, those bigger passions, those bigger purposes within you. All right. So maybe you want somewhere hot and sunny on a beach. Maybe you want to live in Hawaii and you currently live in South Dakota. Right. For my Canadians out there, maybe you want to live in downtown Vancouver and you currently live in Saskatchewan. Right. Same thing. So recognizing that to live in Hawaii or Vancouver is expensive and there's going to be some work involved there. But what you can tell yourself and empower thought to think here would be, instead of saying I can't move, I can't afford it. Saying I can move just not right now. I can move, I just have to plan and save for it. It's in my future. Having thoughts that empower you and make you feel like you're progressively moving towards your goals is going to create energy within you. It's going to create momentum within you, driving you towards what you want. Now, for those of you who live where you live, because you have family nearby or because you have kids and you need family support or you know, your kid's school and you don't want to move them from school, recognizing that you are choosing to live where you live because of what that area provides you in. And you can still have your dream place where you want to live your life and maybe recognize that it might be the place you retire to o5r maybe it's where you go when your kids are old enough to move out. Maybe your parents would want to go there too. Right. Maybe it's somewhere the whole family can go, but noticing that you are where you are in this life, because you're choosing to be there. And if it doesn't feel like it's by choice, if it feels like it's by circumstance. That's okay. But your thoughts about your circumstance are going to create either empowerment or disempowerment.
Okay, let's talk about the third one, entourage. Ready for the question. Here you Who do I want to spend my time with. This is really important. You guys, this is something we talk about in Lady Sculpt a lot. The people around us, there is something so true about the five people you spend the most time with are the people that you're the most like. So are the people that you're spending your time with empowered people? Are they taking responsibility for their thoughts and their feelings and their actions? Are they taking responsibility for their circumstances and. I get that circumstances are not always within our control.
Things happen, like COVID and systemic racism and the shitty things that happen in our world that are completely out of our control. But how we choose to think about them, it's up to us. We can choose to think I have no control over this, it's hopeless. I'll never get ahead. COVID set me back 10 years in my career. We can choose to have those thoughts or we can choose to go on with how does this circumstance serve me? How can I turn this around and make it better? How can I speak up in a way that will change the course of my life for the better and maybe the course of other people's lives for the better. We get to choose whether to be disempowered by our circumstance or empowered by our circumstance. Based on how we choose to think about our circumstance. And so much of how we choose to think comes from how the people around us are choosing to think. When I first started studying life coaching and mindset management, I had to surround myself with people that we're choosing empowering thoughts, that we're choosing to manage their minds, that we're choosing to think positive and to move forward and to be progressive. And there weren't a lot of people in my life that were like that. So what I did is I went to podcasts. You guys have heard me talk about this. I found four or five podcasts from people that were actively managing their minds and teaching about mind management, teaching about empowerment, teaching about entrepreneurship. And I listened to podcasts. No joke. You guys like four to six hours a day, as much time as I would be spending with friends or family each day, I listened to podcasts. And I immersed myself in an entourage that thought the way that I wanted to think. So even if you don't have access, if you don't currently have friends or family that think or do in the way you want to, maybe you want to lose weight and everyone in your life is overweight. Find four or five podcasts, find a group coaching program that's full of other people trying to do what you want to do, find other people that have similar goals to you and spend as much time with them as physically possible. Slowly, what you'll find is the people around you that think differently than you do. I mean, thinking differently than you do is not about thing. But you'll find that like the naysayers and the pessimistic people and the disempowered people and those blamers and shamers and. All of them will slowly fade away. What you'll find is you'll notice that you're very drained when you hang out with certain people or certain family members, and you'll just start setting boundaries for yourself and start protecting your energy sources and paying attention to how you feel when you're around them.
I think empowerment as an energy is very contagious. People want to be around someone who thinks in an empowered way, it's attractive. And what you may notice is that people around you who think in a disempowered way, you may be able to start dropping little like empowerment bombs in their lap. Like not big ones, just little tiny ones like, Hey, you get to choose. If you want to keep that job. Hey, you get to choose. If you want to stay with that guy. You know, that's a choice, right? Like just saying little things, asking little questions that make them think in a different way and all of a sudden, you may notice that some of the people in your life that used to be disempowered are all of a sudden moving over to the empowerment spectrum, the empowerment place, because you're leading the way. All right.
Number four is enjoyment. Here's the question. Are you guys ready? How do you spend your free time? This is going to be quick. I just want to ask, is it purposeful and sculpted? Is it planned? Are you proud of what you're doing in your free time or is it unconscious and habitual? Is it something you've always had? This is something that I'm really working on right now in my life. Not just putting free time on my calendar, not just putting a day off. But actually deciding ahead of time, what I want to do with that free time. Maybe I want to spend two hours every Sunday afternoon, reading a book. Maybe I want to go hiking. Maybe I want to go rollerblading. Maybe I want to use that free time to ponder life.
I find that if I don't have a game plan for my free time, my brain wants to go straight to Netflix. And I notice my brain immediately go unconscious, immediately go into a habitual. And what I mean by habitual is just like an old habit, an old habitual neural pathway. And when I stand in front of TV, instantly, my brain is bored instantly. I want to snack, instantly I want food. So really make sure that you're spending your free time, your socializing time, your enjoyment time in a way that you feel proud of. In a way that is empowered, that you're actively choosing to do it for yourself. And maybe you're actively choosing to watch a movie on Netflix for yourself. It's totally fine. Right. I might actually purposely put Netflix into my free time once a week, but once a week is very different than four hours every night. Right.
So I'm going to go over those four questions, one more time. I want you to write these down. I want you to spend like 15 minutes just sitting and pondering. And really seeing, if you can get deep with yourself and answering them from a really authentic, honest place, and you may want to do this, you know, every couple months, every year because as humans, we change our minds, especially as women, a lot. Right. Okay here we go, four questions from the employment side of things. What do I want to do with my life from the environmental side of things? Where do I want to live my life from an entourage? Who do I want to spend my time with and from an enjoyment place? How do I want to spend my free time?
All right you guys, that's what I have for you in episode 56. Go empower the fuck out of your life. I'll see you next week. Bye for now.
